Mrs. Frank Lambertz, After Short Illness, Passed Away
In Red Oak Last Saturday Morning—Funeral Monday.

Mrs. Frank Lambertz, since 1871 a well known and highly respected resident near Red Oak, passed away at the hospital here at 7 o’clock Saturday morning, Aug. 30, following a surgical operation in hope of relieving a serious case of appendicitis. She had been ill only five days.

Funeral services in memory of Mrs. Lambertz were held at the Salem church at 2 o’clock Monday afternoon, September 1, Rev. J. K. Driver, of the Presbyterian church of Red Oak, preaching the funeral sermon.

The singing was by Mrs. C. Coats, Mrs. Milo Foy, Mr. and Mrs. Howell, Miss Neola Rost, Chas. Cozad and Ed Giles. The friends who acted as pallbearers were Frank Perkins, Grant Buss, Simon Rost, Chas. Anderson, M. P. Giles and W. A. Gilmore. Attendance of friends at the funeral was unusually large, only about half of those present being able to gain admittance to the church. Those who came from a distance were Mrs. J.W. Lambertz and Mrs. Ed Baumberger, from Burlington, Mr. and Mrs. L.D. Stevens, Miss Withrow and Mr. and Mrs. R.E. Harris, from Villisca, and Mr. and Mrs. Will Clites, from Elliott. Burial was in Salem cemetery.
Mrs. Lambertz’s maiden name was Minnie Belle Parker. She was born in Hancock county, Illinois, October 26, 1865, and came to this county in 1871. She was married in Red Oak March 9, 1886, to Frank Lambertz, who survives her. Two children, Herbert and Margaret, survive also, as do one brother, Dr. Parker, of Climax, and two sisters, Mrs. J. Lykins, of Clay Center, Kas., and Mrs. L. McBride.

Deceased was a thoroughly good woman. She was a devoted wife and mother, a kind neighbor and a staunch friend. Her death has brought sadness to many hearts, and the sympathy of a host of friends is extended to the sorrowing family.
