Obituary.

John W. George was born April 22, 1844 and died at the home of his son, William, near Elliott, December 2, 1913, at the age of 69 years, 7 months, and 9 days. His death was caused by apoplexy. In 1862 he was married to Mary Elizabeth Jones who died February 27, 1881. To this union was born eight children, two dying at an early age. The six who are now living are Mrs. Sarah Reynolds, of Post Oak, Missouri; Mrs. Ellie Tinder, of Bishop, California; Mrs. Ollie Oswald, of Creston, Iowa; Mrs. J. W. Norville, of Roseville, Illinois; Wm. George, of Elliott, and John George of Roseville, Illinois. In 1891 he was united in marriage to Mrs. Henrietta Helms, of Macomb, Illinois, she dying April 1, 1903. Mr. George was a member of the Christian church of Roseville, Illinois, for a number of years. He leaves to mourn his loss one brother, six children, 31 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Burial in Evergreen Cemetery, Red Oak, Iowa
