Rites Here Sunday for Elisha Hite, 59
Died Wednesday Morning at the University Hospital, Iowa City, of Complications

IN RED OAK 44 YEARS
  
Elisha Hite, 59, died Wednesday morning at the University hospital at Iowa City of complications. He had been ill more than a year, but his last illness was of short duration. The body was brought to Red Oak yesterday and is at the Sellergren funeral home.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p. m. Sunday at the Christian church, of which Mr. Hite was a member. Rev. Orval Walker will conduct the services. Burial will be in Red Oak (Evergreen) cemetery.

Elisha Hite was born Oct. 10, 1877, in Grundy county, Mo: a son of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob W. Hite. He was married in 1903 at Red Oak to Edna McCabe. He came to Red Oak 44 years ago and has made his home here since that time.

Surviving are three children--Mrs. Dick Yates, of Corning; Mrs. Harold Harper and Duaine Hite, of Red Oak, and the following brothers and sisters: Mrs. Martin Platz, of Elliott; George L. Hite, Edgar Hite and Clark Hite, all of Red Oak. One son was killed in France during the war and a sister, Della, died here.
