 PIONEER DIES HERE MONDAY
 
Gus Bankson Who Had Served Railroad Years-Buried Yesterday.
 
Funeral services for Gus R. Bankson, 79 years old, a resident of this county for forty years, were held from the chapel of Perryman & Sellergren yesterday afternoon. Interment was made in Evergreen cemetery.

Mr. Bankson died Monday morning following an illness of several years. Heart failure is given as the cause of his death.
 
The deceased had been employed by the Burlington railroad for many years. He came to Red Oak forty years ago and had served the company during most of those years. Before coming to Red Oak he resided at Burlington.

Mr. Bankson was born in Sweden, March 9, 1843. It was shortly after he was married that he came with his bride to this country.

Besides his widow he is survived by three sons, John A. Bankson of Council Bluffs: Frank Bankson of Algona and E. W. Bankson of Des Moines.
