Carol Lee Bruce

RED OAK - Carol Lee Bruce, 53, died Dec. 27 at the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital after an extended illness.

She was born July 12, 1949, in Defiance to Raymond and Irene (Langenfeld) Domino. She graduated from Iowa Western Community College in Harlan with an licensed practical nurse degree in 1968.

Mrs. Bruce then moved to Red Oak, where she worked for the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital, and later the Family Medical Clinic. She married Kenneth Bruce Nov. 29, 1969.

She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and Beta Sigma Phi sorority, and enjoyed her Bible study groups.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and four brothers-in-law, Keith Bruce, Harold Morrical, Donnie Bruce and Tom Nicholas.

She is survived by her husband, Kenneth Bruce, children, Amy Fulton and husband, Joe, of Urbandale, Scott Bruce and wife, Jennifer, of Red Oak, Angi Hanson of Red Oak and Anne Smiley and husband, Travis, of Red Oak; five grandchildren, Nathan Fulton, Colin Bruce, Emma Fulton, Carter Bruce and Nolan Smiley; three sisters, Margie Schaben and husband Ron of Defiance, Maxine Schwarte and husband, Gary, of Council Bluffs, and Karen Kramolisch and husband, Jay, of Omaha; a special aunt, Helen Langenfeld of Harlan; four sisters-in-law, Eileen Jones and husband, Dale, of Emerson, Mary Bruce of Hastings, Lorraine Morrical of Hastings, and Verilee Nicholas of Essex; and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church with the Rev. James Kleffman officiating. Burial will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery.

Rosary will be held Monday at 6:30 p.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church with visitation to follow.

Memorials may be made to the Carol Bruce Memorial Fund.

Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of funeral arrangements.
