Isaac N. Carver Dies Here Thursday
Isaac Newton Carver died Thursady evening at his home, 111 A street. Mr. Carver had been in poor health for the past eight years.
Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at the Babtist church. Rev. Richmond A. Smith, pastor of that church, had charge of the services. Those who served as pall bearers were, I. M. Shaffer, F. A. Burdick, Elmer Harris, Howard Brannock, Mr. Larson and William Taylor. Burial was made in Evergreen cemetery.
Isaac Carver was born in Linn county, Kas., Feburary 28, 1858. At the time of his death he was 66 years old. He was united in marriage in 1887 to Margaret E. Jefferies. They resided for twenty-five years at Ft. Scott, Kas., moving from there to Montgomery county four years ago. For the past two years he has made Red Oak his home.
Mr. and Mrs. Carver were the parents of seven children. The five surviving being E. Carver and Mrs. Myrtle Swafford of Ft. Scott, Kas., Mrs. Ethel Scribner of Farmington, N. M., Mrs. P. W. Southwick and Ira Carver of Red Oak. He also leaves two brothers, Ed of Amsterdam, Mo., Jacob of Spokane, Wash., and one sister, Sarah Manning of Butler, Mo. Mr. Carver was an auto mechanic. He was a member of the Babtist church for many years.
