Services Will Be Held Tuesday for "Aunt Vi" Taylor, 92
"Aunt Vi" Taylor, past 92, a native of New York and a resident of Red Oak for over half a century, died Saturday at the county home from infirmaties due to her advanced age. "Aunt Vi", as she was familliarly called was one of the few remaining pioneers of this vicinity.
Funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon at the Sellergren Funeral Home, which was her former home, and where she conducted a rooming house for Red Oak teachers for many years. Services will be at 2:30 o'clock in charge of Rev. F. W. Simpson of the Methodist church. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.
Alvira Ann Taylor was born in Java, N. Y., on June 25, 1841. She came to Red Oak, Iowa, about 1876. Miss Taylor had no close reletives living, but had reared Herbert Charles Crandell of Imperial, Neb., who is living, but is unable to be here for her funeral. Miss Minnie Ashby now at Palmer, Nebr., Dr. A. A. Ashby of Sioux City, and Mrs. Jessie Foote of Grant, Iowa are reletives.
