J. A. Kasell Came from Sweden in 1886; Was PioneerJ. A. Kasell, 81, died yesterday morning at 8 o'clock at the home of his son, Julius Kasell, 610 High street, from complications due to his advanced age. Mr. Kasell was a native of Sweden and was born there January 28, 1853. He spent his early life there and was married there to Mathilda Gustafson, who preceded him in death. She died here April 1, 1932. They came to Montgomery county in 1886 and to Red Oak in 1918.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the home of Mr. and Mrs. Julius Kasell and at 2:30 o'clock from the Swedish Mission church, of which he was a member. Rev. G. S. Hawkinson, Swedish Mission pastor, will be in charge of the service assisted by Rev. Walter F. Peterson of Bethlaham Luthern church and Rev. J. A. Axelson, retired minister.
Mr. Kasell is survived by four sons, Carl of Henning, Minn., Julius of Red Oak, Gust of Stanton and Dave of Custer, S. D. He also leaves six grandchildren and a brother, C. P. Carlson of Stanton.
