Grant - Funeral services were held Friday afternoon, July 4, at 2 p.m. at the Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Villisca for John Yeske, 76, of near Grant. The Rev. Discher of Clarinda officiated.

Pall bearers were Seymour Talor, Stanley Taylor, Lloyd Taylor, Glee Mauderly, Max Shafer and Austin Stuvick. Mrs Seymour Taylor and Mrs. Austin Stuvick took care of the flowers. Burial was in the Grant Cemetery.

Emil Albert John Yeske, died in his sleep of a heart attack about 2 a.m. Wednesday, July 2, at his home near Grant. He had been in failing health the past year.

The son of Albert and Bertha Yeske was born April 24, 1882 in Germany and came with his parents to this country when five years old. They settled on a farm four miles southeast of Grant where he has lived since.

He was married Oct. 20, 1923, at Redwood Falls, Minn., to Ida Panten, who survives.

Other survivors include a brother, Willie Yeske of Orient, a son, Emil and a grandson, John.
