RED OAK - Clarence Leonard Bryant, 95, of Red Oak died Nov. 29 at the Good Samaritan Care Center in Red Oak after an extended illness. He was born March 18, 1907 in Macedonia to Eugene and Pearl (Comstock) Bryant.
He married Hazel Minick on June 22, 1938 in Council Bluffs. He was a farmer until his retirement in 1977.
He was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels, a member of the Red Oak and Stanton Masonic Lodges, Faith Rebekah Lodge, Farm Bureau and the Red Oak Presbyterian Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel, on Dec. 15, 1997.
Survivors include three sons Darrel and wife, Diane, of Greenwood Village, Colo., Dennis and wife, Cynthia of Ames, Kevan and wife, Suzie, of Gillette, Wyoming; three sisters, Gladys Lorimor of Shenandoah, Mae Miller of Red Oak, Dorothy Siegfried and husband, Arnold, of Loveland; a brother, Ross Bryant of Red Oak; seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Visitation with the family will be from 7 to 8 p.m. today at the Nelson-Boylan-LaRette Funeral Chapel.
Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Red Oak Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Suzanne Hewett officiating. Burial will follow at the Macedonia Cemetery in Macedonia.
Memorials may be offered to the Red Oak Presbyterian Church or the Red Oak Good Samaritan Center.
