RED OAK - Marvin A. Hunt, 86, of Shenandoah, formerly of Montgomery County, died Nov. 3 at the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital in Red Oak.
He was born Sept. 24, 1916, in West Township of Montgomery County to Alonzo and Rosa (Burr) Hunt. He was raised on the family farm in West Township and graduated from the Coburg High School in 1935. He lived and farmed all of his life in West Township until moving to Shenandoah in 1995. He was a member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church, the Farm Bureau, Red Oak Elks Lodge No. 1304, and the Montgomery County Historical Society.
Mr. Hunt and his wife, Doris (Lundberg), were married 62 years.
Survivors in addition to his wife include two daughters, Arlene Ham and husband, Ron, of Marengo, Ill., and Mary Morrissey and husband, Larry, of Omaha; one son, James, and wife, Janet, of London, Ohio; three brothers, Verle and wife, Ellen, of Marshalltown, Don and wife, Sandra, of Red Oak and Dean and wife, Lillian, of Elliott; five grandchildren; niece and nephews.
Visitation with the family will be tonight from 7 to 8 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel in Red Oak. The funeral will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church. A private family burial will take place prior to the funeral services at the Walnut Cemetery in rural Montgomery County.
