MARRIED
At the home of the bride’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Japheth Hughes, in Frankfort Township on Wednesday, at 1:30 p.m., by the Rev. G. W. Ainslie, Mr. Elliott D. Evans and Miss Maggie F. Hughes. There goes another of the bachelor brigade – a willing captive to an unconditional surrender. It’s the old story, Elliott was no less brave than the thousands who have gone before or are left behind. Sympathy would be gratuitous in the presence of the fact that he had made choice of one of the brightest and best of the fair daughters of Montgomery County, and having been permitted to sample the cake made by the bride, we have no doubt of Elliott being, well cared for. The interesting event was witnessed by a number of the more immediate friends and relatives. The presents were very choice, and the happy pair enter upon their new life with the benedictions of all who know them. Those present from Red Oak were: Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Fisher and Miss Minnie; Rev. G. W. Ainslie and Miss Shannon; Mrs. Mel Roberts: Mr. and Mrs. M. E. Fisher; Mr. and Mrs. O. E. Whitaker; J. F. Junkin and Miss Louise Piper; O. J. McCament and Miss Maude Daily; Charley Lane, Mrs. C. H. Lane, Miss Sadie Lane and Nora Lane; Mr. and Mrs. W. S. Baxter, Mrs. J. A. McLain; the Misses Stephenson; Dr. and Mrs. Hallett; Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Bishop and the Misses Bishop; R. G. Ferguson, Dr. J. A. J. Martin.
