Albia – Mrs. Wilma Shepard, 41, of two miles north of Albia died Saturday at 10 p.m. at the Ottumwa hospital. She had been ill of Hodgkin’s disease about five years.
Survivors include her husband, Sam; a son Kenneth, 18, and four daughters, Elaine, 18, Delores, 14, Martha, 11, and Lela, 5, all at home. She also leaves her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Van Zante, and a brother Carl Van Zante of Moravia.
The service will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Evangelical United Brethren church, conducted by the Rev. Donald Gruber, pastor. Burial will be in Oak View cemetery. The body is at the Lewis Funeral Chapel.

Mrs. Sam Shepard, 41, died Saturday evening at Ottumwa Hospital. She had lived with her family about three miles northeast of Albia on Highway 137.
Mrs. Shepard was the former Wilma R. Van Zante. She was born near Moravia Nov. 8, 1918, the daughter of John and Eva Corey Van Zante.
She is survived by her husband; her parents; five children, Elaine, 18; Kenneth, 17; Delores, 14; Martha, 11, and Lela, 5; and a brother, Carl Van Zante of near Moravia.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Evangelical United Brethren Church with the Rev. Donald M. Gruber officiating. Burial will be in Oak View cemetery.
The body is at Lewis Funeral Home.
