William N. Frye, 70, of Albia died Oct 11, 1990, at Ottumwa Regional Health Center. Services were held 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Gilbert Funeral home in Albia, the Rev. Timothy Smith officiating. Burial with military rites was in Hiteman Cemetery in Hiteman.
He was born Dec. 13, 1919, in Monroe County to William H. and Minnie Polson Frye. He had lived most of his life in Albia and served with the Army in World War II. He had retired from Veterans Administration Medical Center in Knoxville, where he worked in the maintenance department and was a member of American Legion in Albia. He married Carrie Irene Gray May 18, 1940, Chariton. She died June 22, 1983.
He is survived by two sons, Larry and Wayne of Fort Myers, Fla.; a daughter, Linda Smock of Albia; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Grace; and two brothers, Delbert and Kenneth.
Memorials may be made to the Hiteman Cemetery.
