An insane negro, Macy Hunley, armed with a shotgun, ran amuck at Buxton and shot and killed Vernie Watkins, a youth. After he had shot a man in the legs and had fired at a woman walking along the street he was overpowered after a hard fight in which he tried to use a revolver.
