Phillip Barron Dead

Philip Barron, 68 years old, died Thursday, March 9. 1939, at his home in Cedar township. Death followed a stroke of paralysis suffered one week before.

Mr. Barron, son of James and Catherine Barron was born in Cedar township, Monroe county, Iowa, on the farm where he died, with the exception of a short time spent on another farm, his life was lived on this one place.

Mr. Barron was united in marriage in 1902 to Mary Morrissey.

Surviving are his wife Mary, sons, Phillip at home and Edward at Melrose; four daughters, Mrs. William Tierney of Melrose, Mrs. Dan Flahive of Lovilia, Mrs. William Quinn of Chariton; and Mrs. Mike Cronin of Melrose. two brothers, the Rev. Father Edward Barron of Brooklyn and James Barron of Lovilia; one sister, Mrs. William Morrissey of Lovilia; other relatives and a host of friends.

A Requiem Mass was said at St. Mary's church, Weller, Monday morning, in charge of the Rev. Father Edward Barron of Brooklyn. The Rev, Father J. A. Wagner delivered the sermon.

Burial war made in St. Mary’s cemetery.

Pall bearers were Thomas, Matthew, James and Vincent Barron, William and Edward Morrissey.
