LOUE HOSKINS was born in Portage County, Ohio, May 22, 1839, and moved with her parents to Monroe County in 1851, where she grew to womanhood. She died at her home in Avery, Iowa, February 13, 1908, at 4:15 a.m., aged 68 years,9 months, 21 days; after an illness of about fifteen weeks.

She was married to RICHARD MARTIN Dec. 9, 1859. To this union were born seven children, six daughters and one son, one daughter and one son dying in infancy, the others growing to womanhood. MR. MARTIN died Feb. 27, 1883. She remained a widow until 1890 when on December 9th she married BENJAMIN F. KIMLER, at Russell, Iowa, where they lived for several years, moving to Avery in 1903, where she died. She leaves a husband, four daughters, three step daughters, three step sons, three sisters, and one brother. Names of daughters: LYTHIA ROGERS, HATTIE LAFAVERS, EVA MATTHEWS, LYDA JOHNSON. Step children: C.M. KIMLER, ELSA GREY, ESTHER IRVIN, G.C. KIMLER, C.R. KIMLER, KATIE JOHNSON. Names of sisters, AMELIA MILLER, Miller Ridge; MIRA WORDEN, Wyoming; MRS. J. HINTON, Albia, Ia.; a brother, MR. PATTERSON HOSKINS, of Missouri. There are twenty-two grandchildren, thirteen step grandchildren,five great grandchildren, and a host of relatives and friends to mourn their loss.

She was converted early in life and has lived a consistent Christian life
ever since. She was a kind loving mother and wife, devoted to the interest
of her home and to the community in which she lived, was kind and loving.
She will be remembered by kind friends and loved ones. Her funeral occurred
Saturday, Feb. 15, 1908, at 11 a.m., at the Avery M.E. Church of which she
was an acceptable member at the time of her death. Funeral was conducted by
her pastor, E.O. Rankin, and she was laid to rest in the Smith's Cemetery,
south of Avery, beside her former husband.
