MARY G. CONWAY

Mary G. Conway, 82, of Albia, died Sunday, Oct. 4, 1998, at Kavanagh House in Des Moines of liver disease. Funeral services were at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Albia, the Rev. Thomas Doyle officiating. Burial was in Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Melrose.

She was born Sept. 27, 1916, in Melrose to John and Ella Walsh Carmody. She married Henry E. Conway in August of 1938 at St. Patrick's Church in Melrose. She was a graduate of Melrose High School, and was a homemaker all of her life. She and her husband were farmers in the Melrose area until they retired and moved to Albia in 1979. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Albia and was a member of St. Mary's Altar and Rosary Society in Albia.

She is survived by her husband of Albia; five daughters, Marge Moore of Clive, Mary Flahive of Omaha, Neb., Martha Kuhl of Urbandale, Marilyn Thielenhaus of Casa Grande, Ariz., and Diane Conway of Clive; four sons, Charles Conway of Chariton, James Conway of Des Moines, Patrick Conway of Russell and Mark Conway of Urbandale; 29 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one brother, James Carmody of Melrose.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Matt Carmody, Mark Carmody and Paul Carmody; and one sister, Ann Bernice Scieszinski.
