MICHAEL NAUGHTON

After several weeks illness Michael Naughton passed away Saturday morning, Sept. 2nd at the home of his niece Mrs. Martin Murray where he had made his home for the past 14 years. Mr. Naughton was born in County Galway, Ireland in 1839 and died near Georgetown Sept. 2, 1922. He came to America 47 years ago. The funeral was held at St. Patrick's church, Georgetown, Monday morning, Sept. 4th.

Rev. Father Murphy celebrated Requiem High Mass, preached the funeral sermon and pronounced the final absolution. Interment was in St. Patrick's Cemetery with his sisters, Mrs. L. Coughlin and Mrs. Mary O'Leary. The pall bearers were: James O'Neill, John Knowles, John Comer and John Judge. The funeral was attended by a large congregation of old friends and neighbors who showed their respect for this good man.
