Prominent Pioneer of Monroe County is Dead

William Feehan, aged pioneer of Monroe county, died shortly before noon today at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Martin Sheehan, 513 Benton avenue west, after an illness extending over several months. Kidney trouble, complicated with diseases incident to age, was the cause of his death.

Mr. Feehan was about 88 years old. He came to this country from Ireland when but 21 years old, and has been a continuous resident of Monroe county since that time until his death. He was a prominent and leading citizen of the vicinity of Georgetown, and took an active part in the development of the community. His wife died several years ago. After her death Mr. Feehan made his home with his daughter, Mrs. James Grady, until her tragic death by burning, about a month ago. Since then he has lived in Albia with Mrs. Sheehan and her family. He is survived by eleven children and a number of grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at the church at Georgetown Saturday morning at 10:30.
