Earl O. GroomsEarl O. Grooms, 70, Ottumwa, died Sept. 11 in Ottumwa Hospital.
He was born in Monroe County on May 12, 1912, the son of Arthur and Nettie Johnston Grooms. He worked for John Deere Ottumwa Works before retiring and attended Munterville Lutheran Church.
On Oct. 19, 1935 he married Leona P. Sinskey in Munterville. She survives. Another survivor is one brother, Carl O. Grooms of Huntington, Ore.
Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Sept. 15 at Munterville Lutheran Church with the Rev Stephen Gronseth officiating. Burial will be at Munterville Cemetery. Johnson Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Memorials have been established to Munterville Lutheran Church and the American Cancer Society.
