Daniel M. Shehan, youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. D. M. Shehan was instantly killed Wednesday morning at Afton, Iowa by being struck by a train. He was employed there by the Burlington railroad on an extra gang.

He had been home over Sunday and the news of his tragic death came as a shock to his family and the entire community mourns his loss.

His remains were brought to his home here by auto and his funeral was held Thursday morning at nine o'clock from St. Patrick's church. The pastor, Monsignor McCormick sang the Mass of Requiem and pronounced the final blessing at the grave.

"Dannie" as we all knew him, will be greatly missed by all his friends, but especially by his heart-broken mother and father, and the family.

He is survived by his parents, one brother, Frances, one sister, Irene, one brother and two sisters preceding him in death.

The entire community extend their heartfelt sympathy to his good family in the loss of their dear one.
