GENEVIEVE 'JENNY' SCIESZINSKI

Genevieve “Jenny” Scieszinski, 86, of Albia, died Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2001 at the Monroe County Hospital in Albia. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 24 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Albia, Rev. William Walter officiating. Burial will be at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Melrose.
She was born Sept. 6, 1914 in Hiteman to John and Mary Heyland Crall. She married Louis Scieszinski on Dec. 26, 1942 at St. Mary’s Church in Weller. She was a homemaker. She and her husband lived in Monroe County all their lives. In the early 1980’s she moved to Albia. She was a former member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Weller, and a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Albia, and also a member of St. Mary’s Altar and Rosary Society.
She is survived by several nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by both parents; husband, Louis; one infant daughter; five brothers, Cecil, Robert, John, Tom and William Crall; and three sisters, Agnes Smith, Evelyn Scieszinski and Josephine McGarvey.
Visitation will be open all day, Friday, Feb. 23 at Winfield Funeral Home in Albia. A Christian wake service will be at 7 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home. The family will be present Friday evening from 6 to 8 p.m.
Memorials may be made to St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Albia or Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Melrose.
Winfield Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
