Catherine Bilson

Catherine M. Bilson, 83, of Melrose died Dec. 1, 1988, at the Albia Manor.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Melrose, the Rev. Mark Swanson officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Melrose.

She was born Feb. 8, 1905, in Melrose to Martin and Catherine Murray Ciska.

She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Melrose and the Altar and Rosary Society.

She and her husband had operated a motel in Phoenix, Ariz. and she had been employed at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines. She married Howard C. Bilson Jan. 26, 1935. He died June 7, 1955.

She is survived by a son Robert of Pewdukee, Wis.; one brother, Jack Ciska of Melrose; two sisters, Mary A. McGrath of Albia and Helen Batten of Melrose; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation is open at Gilbert Funeral Home. The rosary will be said Friday at 8 p.m. at St. Patrick's. Memorials may be made to St. Patrick's.
