Mrs. Edward White Dies Tuesday Night At Age of 78 Years

Mrs. Edward White, 78, died Tuesday evening at 6:45 at her home in Melrose. Mrs. White's husband preceded her in death four months ago.

Survivors include one son, Edmond White of Melrose; five daughters, Mrs. W. S. Knowles of Melrose; Mrs. E. J. Scieszinski of Janesville, Wis.; Marguerite White of Maywood, Ill.; Josephine White of Fairfield; and Mrs. T. J. Shevler of Davenport.

Other survivors are a sister, Miss Bid Denefe of Melrose; and four grandchildren.

Mrs. White was born at Agency, but spent most of her life in Monroe county. Before marriage her name was Johanna Denefe. She was a member of the Catholic church of Melrose.

Funeral services were conducted this morning at nine o'clock at the Melrose church in charge of the Rev. Father J.J. Welsh. Burial was in Mount Calvary cemetery.
