JEAN TURBOTRosemary Jean Turbot, 84, died November 14, 2009 at the Chariton Nursing and Rehab Center.
Jean was the eldest of five children, born November 4, 1925 to Mort and Margaret "Peg" Hannam, on their farm, bordering Monroe and Lucas counties.
She attended school in Melrose. After high school she attended the Business College of Ottumwa and worked for John Morrell in the IBM department. Jean and Don wed 61 years ago on October 31, 1948.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Robert Hannam.
She is survived by her husband, Don of Russell and three children, Clee, Steve and Jeff; three grandchildren; and three sisters, Sheila, Dorothy and Dolores, and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, November 20, 2009, at the St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Melrose, Ia with Father Pat Lumsden officiating.
The family will meet with friends at the Fielding Funeral Home from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, November 19, 2009 with prayer service at 7 p.m. Interment will be in the Russell Cemetery.
