Monday, October 8, 1962William J. Cratty, 83, Dies Saturday
William J. Cratty, 83, died at 9:30 p.m. Saturday at Monroe County Hospital.
He was born in Monroe county Sept. 21, 1879, the son of Michael and Bridget Cratty. He had lived on the home farm 10 miles west of Lovilia all his life. In October, 1905, he was married to Catherine Heyland, who survives.
He was preceded in death by eight children.
Surviving are two sons, Earl of Chariton and Bernard at home; two daughters, Mrs. Joe Judge of Davenport and Mrs. Fred Blubaugh of near Melrose; eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren; one brother, Dave Cratty of Saskatchewan, Canada; and one sister, Mrs. Margaret Fitzgerald of Alberta, Ohatan, Canada.
The Rosary will be recited tonight at 8 p.m. at Humeston Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary's Church in Weller with the Rev. Father J. A. Hebenstreit in charge. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
