OTTUMWA – Marjorie I. Crow, 88, of Minnetonka, Minn. and formerly of Ottumwa, died at 5:40 p.m. March 16, 2008 at N.C. Little Memorial Hospice in Edina, Minn.
She was born Oct. 3, 1919 in ALBIA, Iowa to Harry H. and Verna Smith Jones. She married Kenneth Crow May 27, 1939 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. He preceded her in death on Sept. 17, 1995.
A resident of Ottumwa until July 2000 when she moved to Minnetonka, Minn. to be close to her son, she was an employee of John Morrell and Co. and John Deere Ottumwa Works. She was a member of the East End Presbyterian Church. She was an active artist, having served on the art board of Indian Hills Community College. She was a member of the Iowa Artists, Ottumwa Chapter of Iowa Artists, Iowa Water Colors Society, Ottumwa Area Arts Council and had served on the executive board of the YWCA.
Surviving is a son, Terry Crow of Minneapolis, Minn.; two grandsons, Jon (Melissa) Crow of Minneapolis, Minn. and Brad Amelsberg of Seattle, Wash.; a great-grandson, Jon P. “Jack” Crow and a great-granddaughter, Piper Crow.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Gerald “Casey” Jones and a great-grandson, Mitchell Crow.
Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. Thursday at Reece Funeral Home. Cremation will follow the visitation. Graveside services will be 9 a.m. Friday at Memorial Lawn Cemetery with Rev. Kate Stangl officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to East End Presbyterian Church.
