Mrs. Lula Lane Dies in Ottumwa; Rites Thursday

Mrs. George (Lula Bilterman) Lane, 87, of ottumwa, a resident of Newton for 20 years, died Tuesday at the Ottumwa Hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Reece Funeral Home in Ottumwa.

The Rev. Neil Guy, pastor of the Ottumwa First Christian Church, will conduct services. Burial willb e in Cuba Cemetery in Monroe County.

Memorials to the Nelson Manor in Newton will be accepted.

Survivors are her husband is a resident of Nelson Manor in Newton; two daughters, Evelyn Carter of Ottumwa and Nora Lee Harville of Muscatine; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Grace McDonald of Ferndale, Mich.

Mrs. Lane, a resident of Newton from 1956 to 1976, was born Oct. 11, 1891 in Monroe County, the daughter of Cyrus and Lovina Scott Jones. She resided in Monroe County until moving to Newton.

She moved to Ottumwa in 1976.

She was married to John Bilterman April 9. 1910. He preceded her in death April 26, 1955.

She was married to George Lane Sept. 30, 1956. ~ The Newton Daily News, Newton, Iowa, February 14, 1979.
