2 April 2026Gary Dick Warren, 80, of Onawa, Iowa passed away peacefully surrounded by family, Saturday morning, March 28, 2026.
A private family graveside service will be held at Floyd Township Cemetery Bronson, Iowa with Pastor Catie Newman officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Goslar Funeral Home and Monuments, Onawa, Iowa.
Dick was born September 23, 1945 in Fairfield, Iowa. He was the son of Clifford Warren and Helen (McCracken) Warren. He grew up on a family farm outside of Fairfield. Dick graduated from Moville High School in 1964.
Dick enlisted in the United States Army and served as a military police officer and a dog handler in the Vietnam War. After the war, Dick worked for Monona County Secondary Road Department. Dick was an avid outdoorsman, he loved camping, hunting, trapping, and helping his son’s Boy Scout troop.
He was united in marriage to Margaret Annette Rogers on July 6, 1968. Together they enjoyed spending their time on their small acreage, gardening and raising their family. In his retirement, he enjoyed woodworking, gardening, and most of all spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Dick is survived by his children, Jay (Laurie) Warren of Moville, Iowa, Reuben (Erika) Warren of Lennox, South Dakota, Anne (Matt) Topf of Salix, Iowa, and Garrick (Kristi) Warren of Dayton, Ohio; his fifteen grandchildren, Megan Kallem, Makayla & Colton Warren, Catherine Birk, Gabe, Schuyler, Gavin and Emersyn Warren, Jaxson, Janie, Joanna Koenig and Emily Sanford, and David, William and Isabelle Warren; one great grandson, Barron Birk; his sister, Becky Moodie of Moville, Iowa; and many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Annette Warren; and parents, Clifford and Helen Warren.
