Ronald “Bill” Davis, 93, of Onawa, Iowa passed away Wednesday, March 4, 2026 at his home.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at the Onawa United Methodist Church, Onawa, Iowa, with Pastor David Godwin, officiating. A live stream of the service will be posted on the Goslar Funeral Home website with Bill’s obituary. Burial will follow in the Whiting City Cemetery, Whiting, Iowa. A visitation will be 5:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M. Monday, March 9, 2026 at the Goslar Funeral Home Chapel, Onawa, Iowa. Arrangements are under the direction of Goslar Funeral Home and Monuments, Onawa, Iowa.

Ronald Warren Davis was born July 22, 1932 in rural Castana, Iowa, the son of Merlin and Helen (Warren) Davis. He attended school in Castana and graduated from Castana High School with the class of 1951. After graduating, Bill worked in Omaha for several years plastering houses.

Bill and Doris O’Neal were united in marriage September 1, 1957, at the Onawa United Methodist Church. To this union, two children were born, Adam and Todd Davis. Bill and Doris also shared a love of square dancing and enjoyed many years dancing together.

He began farming in 1959 and remained a dedicated farmer for many years; it was truly his life’s work and passion. Bill took great pride in caring for the land and the work it required. In addition to farming, he enjoyed woodworking and was skilled at building many wood projects, taking satisfaction in creating things with his hands. Bill was known for his strong work ethic and was never afraid of hard work. Above all, he cherished time with his family and was especially proud of his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, who meant the world to him.

Bill was a member of the Onawa United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife of sixty-eight years, Doris Davis of Onawa, Iowa; his children, Adam (Peg) Davis of Blencoe, Iowa, and Todd (Joan) Davis of Onawa, Iowa; four grandchildren, Samantha (Ethan) Burgess, Dexter (Tasha) Davis, Sydney Davis, and Courtney Davis; three great-grandchildren, Ellie Burgess, Easton Burgess, and Finley Davis; sister, Carol (Rick) Deeds of Correctionville, Iowa; several nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Merlin and Helen (Warren) Davis; grandson, Levi Davis; three sisters, Darlyne Leisinger, Garnet Miller, and Donna Davis; and one brother, Howard Davis.
