Charlotte Rae Seybold, 87, of Turin, Iowa, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, in Parker, Colorado, leaving behind a legacy of love, faith, and devotion to her family and friends.

A funeral service will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, April 12, 2025 at the Faith Lutheran Church, Onawa, Iowa with Pastor Paul Coen, officiating. A live stream of the service will be posted on the Goslar Funeral Home website with Charlotte’s obituary. A luncheon will follow the service at the church. Burial will follow in the Belvidere Cemetery, Turin, Iowa. Arrangements are under the direction of Goslar Funeral Home and Monuments, Onawa. Iowa.

She was born October 27, 1937 in Sioux City, Iowa, to Ray and Edna Heck. Charlotte grew up with a deep appreciation for family and community. She met the love of her life, Elwood Seybold, and they were married on February 19, 1956, in Sioux City. Together, they made their home on the family farm, where they raised their three children: Joan, Karen, and Ray.

Charlotte and Elwood shared a love of the water and spent many joyful summers at Lake Okoboji and winters traveling to places like Hawaii, the Caribbean, and Tucson. The couple shared passions for farming, boating, and travel which led to countless adventures and treasured memories for their family.

Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Elwood.

She is survived by her children; Joan (David) Dameron of Parker, Colorado, Karen Samson of San Antonio, Texas, and Ray (Julie) Seybold of Omaha, Nebraska. Charlotte was a proud and loving grandmother to Kati (Steven) Cahill, Jeni (Zach) Fleck, Nick (Amanda) Samson, Hannah (Andrew) Samson, Reid (Kait) Dameron, and Morgan (Kaden) Seybold. She was also a beloved G.G. to her great-grandchildren; Emersyn, Emma, Rilee, Elwood, Kooper, Francesca, and Remi. She leaves behind her dear niece, Kristin (Chad) Prewett, and nephew, Derek (Katie) Horeis.

Charlotte was blessed with many dear friends through P.E.O., her bridge and coffee groups, and her church community. She was a talented ice skater, graceful water skier, and gifted seamstress—always bringing joy, creativity, and elegance to everything she did.

Charlotte will be forever remembered for her warmth, kindness, and adventurous spirit. She lived a life full of love, laughter, and meaningful connection—and her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

In Charlotte’s memory donations may be made to the Onawa Public Library, 707 Iowa Avenue, Onawa, Iowa, 51040, a place that reflects her lifelong love of learning and community.
