Obituary Of Louis Reed

Louis Charles Reed was born March 24, 1899 in Soldier, Iowa and passed from this life in a  Souix City hospital on January 13, 1958.

Death came at the age of 58 years. Louis chose farming as his vocation and spent his lifetime in this community.

He was united in marriage with Esther Cutter at Onawa, Iowa, on September 15, 1928. To this union two sons and one daughter were born. 

Early in life he accepted the Christ as his Saviour and was united with the Methodist Church of Ticonic.

Survivors are his wife, Esther, the two sons, Richard Giles and  Louis Paul both of Castana, and the daughter, Lena Louise Barker also of Castana; a brother, Leonard P. Reed of Castana; 5 grandchildren, along with a number of other relatives and a host of friends.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, Jan. 15, at 2 p.m. at the Ticonic Methodist Church with Rev. Everett Epperson conducting the services. Evan Davies sang "In the Garden" and "Beyond the Sunset," accompanied by Mrs. Evan Davies.

Casket bearers were Herbert McCall, Robert E. Nutt Jr, La Verne Holverson, Leland McCall, Ernest Nutt and Ward Plummer. Interment was in the Kennebec cemetery at Castana,with arrangements by the Pearson Funeral Home.
