23 October 2024Carol Marie Jenkins, 71, of Onawa, Iowa, passed away Tuesday, October 15, 2024, surrounded by her family, at MercyOne Siouxland Medical Center, Sioux City, Iowa.
A funeral service will be 10:30 A.M. Tuesday, October 22, 2024, at the Goslar Funeral Home Chapel, Onawa, Iowa, with Darren C. E. Goslar, officiating. A visitation will be 5:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. Monday, October 21, 2024, with a 7:00 P.M. prayer service at the Goslar Chapel, with Pastor Maxine Burow, officiating. A live stream of the services will be posted on the Goslar Funeral Home website with Carol’s obituary. A graveside service will be held at 2:30 P.M. Tuesday, October 22, 2024, in the McCook Cemetery, North Sioux City, South Dakota. Arrangements are under the direction of Goslar Funeral Home and Monuments, Onawa, Iowa.
Carol Marie was born December 18, 1952, in Sioux City, Iowa, the daughter of George and Georgia (Mathys) Irwin. She grew up in Riverside and attended Riverside elementary school and Elk Point Jefferson High School.
Carol and Douglas Jenkins were united in marriage on March 17, 1974, in Elk Point, South Dakota. To this union three children were born: Cheryl, Eric, and Lisa. The couple later divorced.
She worked at various places including Zenith T.V., WinnaVegas Casino Resort, Target, and McDonalds for many years.
Carol enjoyed playing games on her phone, crossword puzzles, and coloring. She loved spending time with her family, especially her children and grandchildren.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ Onawa Congregation, Onawa, Iowa.
Survivors include her children, Cheryl Edris of Salix, Iowa, Eric Jenkins of Rapid City, South Dakota, and Lisa Jenkins of Sioux City, Iowa; grandchildren, Cody Jenkins, Bradyn Bangtson, Hunter Jenkins, and Iris Hancock; brothers, Allan (Debbie) Irwin of Vermillion, South Dakota, and Roger (Lila) Irwin of Napa, Idaho; nieces, Deana (Kip) Bingen of Vermillion, South Dakota, Jessica (Chris) Tieszen of Vermillion, South Dakota, Melissa (Daniel) Klinger of Vermillion, South Dakota; brothers-in-law, Roger Jenkins of Sloan, Iowa, Buzz Jenkins of Sloan, Iowa, Phillip (Linda) Jenkins of Sloan, Iowa; sisters-in-law, Charlotte Hemmrich of Omaha, Nebraska, Betty (Steve) Hickman of Faribault, Minnesota, Karen Jenkins of Sloan, Iowa, and LeAnn Jenkins of Sloan, Iowa, and Lester (Jane) Jenkins of Whiting, Iowa; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Georgia (Mathys) Irwin; maternal and paternal grandparents; former husband, Doug Jenkins; aunts and uncles; nephew, Michael Irwin; and parents-in-law, Glenn and Alice (Byers) Jenkins.
