31 July 2024Marilyn Alice Wagner, 81, of Turin, Iowa, passed away Friday, July 26, 2024, at her home, surrounded by family.
A memorial graveside service will be 11:00 A.M. Friday, August 2, 2024, at the Belvidere Cemetery, Turin, Iowa. A recording of the service will be posted on the Goslar Funeral Home Website with Marilyn’s obituary. A luncheon will follow in Turin Community Building, Turin, Iowa. Arrangements are under the direction of Goslar Funeral Home and Monuments, Onawa, Iowa.
Marilyn was born October 17, 1942, in Sioux City, Iowa, the daughter of Marvin and Elanor (Sardeson) Brown. She grew up in Sioux City and attended Central High School.
Marilyn and Leo Wagner were united in marriage on April 19, 1968, in Elk Point, South Dakota. She lived in Turin all through her married life. Marilyn managed the senior citizen center in Onawa for many years.
She enjoyed gardening, crocheting, quilting, cooking, and canning. Marilyn loved her numerous pets.
She was a member of the St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Sioux City, Iowa.
Survivors include her husband, Leo Wagner of Turin, Iowa; children, Marvin Kevin Wagner, Sr. of Norfolk, Virginia, and Leon (Michelle) Wagner of Petersburg, Nebraska; grandchildren, Marvin Kevin Wagner, Jr. , Joseph (Lindsey) Wagner, and Angelica (Hector) Perez all of Norfolk, Virginia, and Trystan Wagner of Sioux City, Iowa; great-grandchildren, Alania Wagner, Corbin Wagner, and Cyrus Wagner; sister, Janice Dawdy of Sioux City, Iowa; and other relatives, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Marvin and Elanor (Sardeson) Brown; sisters, Donna Rae Brown; Elaine Andersen; and nephew Jay Dawdy.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Marilyn’s memory to a children’s charity, local food bank, or an animal shelter.
