Georjean Bailey, 83 of Sioux City, Iowa passed away Saturday, October 28, 2023 at a care in Whiting, Iowa. No services are being held at this time. Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City.

Georjean M. Bailey was born, March 2, 1940, in Omaha, NE. to George and Jean Gates. She graduated from the University of Nebraska in Omaha. She married Richard Bailey in 1960 and moved to Sioux City in 1962. They celebrated 59 wonderful years before he passed, August 11, 2019.

Georjean was the Director of the Downtown Merchandising Council, for Senator Roger Jepsen and Congressman Fred Grandy. She retired from Goodwill Industries in 2010 and continued to work in Government, doing PR and Political Consultation. Georjean directed and produced the Miss Teenage America pageant in the tri-state area and national levels. She played a large part in the Sioux City Sue pageant. She created the JCPenney Teenboard and conducted many fashion shows. She was the President of the Welcome Wagon, the PTA, and was a Girl Scout Leader. She held offices in Young Republicans, Press Club and the Public Relations Society of America. Throughout her life she ran political campaigns on the local, state and national levels.

Survivors include: daughter, Barbara Hoffman, Sioux City, IA, son, Mark Bailey and his wife, Therese, Colton, SD, grandchildren, Charles (Chaz) Hoffman, Kansas City, MO and Mikkala Hoffman, Sioux City, IA.
