Dennis Dawdy, 67, of Onawa, Iowa passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, March 2, 2023, at his residence.

A memorial service will be 2:00 P.M. Monday, March 6, 2023, at the Goslar Funeral Home Chapel, Onawa, Iowa, with Pastor Clif Cockburn, officiating. Military Honors provided by the United States Army will follow the memorial service. A live stream of the service will be posted on the Goslar Funeral Home Website with Dennis’ obituary. A private family burial will occur at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Goslar Funeral Home and Monuments, Onawa, Iowa.

Dennis Allen was born on May 6, 1955, to Melvin and June (Green) Dawdy, in Sioux City, Iowa. He received his G.E.D.

Dennis and Terri Moore were united into marriage on December 13, 1973, in Spring Field, Tennessee. He was drafted into the United States Army on March 05, 1979, and was honorably discharged on March 23, 1979. When Dennis came back from the military, he attended WITCC for culinary school.

He worked as a cook and kitchen manger for over twenty years, for United Vending at Iowa Beef in South Sioux City, Nebraska.

Dennis enjoyed hunting, fishing, and motorcycles. He enjoyed playing Backgammon on the computer. Dennis loved spending time with his family, grandchildren, and picking on his wife Terri.

Survivors include his wife, Terri Dawdy of Onawa, Iowa; three daughters, Tessandra (Stewart) Simpson of Onawa, Iowa, Tonya (Mark) Eide of Des Moines, Iowa, and daughter, Barbie of Arizona; son, Thomas Dawdy of Sioux City, Iowa; grandchildren, Emily Repplinger, Alena Dawdy, Serina Dawdy, and Christopher Repplinger; great-grandchildren, Kaysin Simpson, and Annisia Simpson; siblings, Donna Klemme, Deanna Gartner, Debbie Hyer, Denis (Vern) Plum, Darla (Julie) Isom, Darleen Dawdy, Doug (Kathy) Dawdy, Donnie Dawdy, Dawn (Tom) Bealieu, and Dixie (Steve) Carda, and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Melvin and June (Green) Dawdy; two brothers, Danny (Diane) Dawdy, and Dean Dawdy; and three brothers-in-law, Butch Klemme, Geaorge Gartner, and Ed Hyer.
