Raymond E. Sievers, 88 years old, of Onawa, Iowa, passed away on Friday, February 3, 2023 at MercyOne Siouxland Regional Medical Center in Sioux City, Iowa.

A funeral service will be 10:00 A.M. Saturday, February 11, 2023 at Faith Lutheran Church, Onawa, Iowa with Pastor Paul Coen, officiating. A live stream of the service will be posted on the Goslar Funeral Home website with Raymond’s obituary. Burial will follow in the Onawa Cemetery with Military Honors by the United States Army and the David McNeill American Legion Post #129 of Onawa, Iowa. A visitation will be 5:00 - 7:00 P.M. on Friday, February 10, 2023 at the Goslar Funeral Home Chapel in Onawa, Iowa. Arrangements are under the direction of Goslar Funeral Home and Monuments, Onawa, Iowa.

Raymond Edward Sievers was born August 4, 1934 in Storm Lake, Iowa the son of Edward William and Elsie Ida (Wessel)-(Langner) Sievers. Raymond graduated in 1953 from Newell High School in Newell, Iowa.

Raymond and Jeanette Esther Moltsau were united in marriage on December 29, 1957 in Onawa, Iowa. To this union three children were born, Jeffrey, Patricia, and Pamela.

Raymond was drafted into the United States Army and he proudly served from November 6, 1956 until his honorable discharge on November 5, 1958.

He was employed in road construction and helped build many roads over the years including Interstate I-29. He always loved driving to the country and spending time on his acreage. He also enjoyed going fishing.

Raymond was a member of the Faith Lutheran Church in Onawa, Iowa.

Survivors include his wife of sixty-five years, Jeanette Sievers of Onawa, Iowa; his children, Jeffrey (Roxie) Sievers of Allen, Nebraska, Patricia (Duane Gosch) Washburn of Mapleton, Iowa, and Pamela (Harold) Groves of Onawa, Iowa; grandchildren, Ray (Kelly) Sievers of Tea, South Dakota, Nicole Sievers of Fremont, Nebraska, Josh (Brittany) Sievers of Wayne, Nebraska, Gary (Riley Brockman) Jensen of Pisgah, Iowa, and Karen (Justin Jensen) Jensen of Remsen, Iowa; great-grandchildren, Jena Tindol, Chloe Sievers, Johanna Sievers, Kendal Gronenthal, Trevyn Gronenthal, Alexa Sievers, Brayden Sievers, and Weston Jensen; brothers and sisters, Arlo (Karen) Sievers, Gilbert (Sherry) Sievers, Alice Heithkamp, Gloria Peschon, Phillip (Marlene) Sievers, Genevieve Austin, Dennis Sievers, Arlene (Andy) Cunningham, and Priscilla (Darin) Young; one sister-in-law, Barbara Sievers; and many nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Elsie Sievers; one sister, Vera Sievers, two brothers, Rollin Sievers and Donald Sievers; two great-grandsons, Tanner Gronenthal and Oscar Sievers; two brothers-in-law, Jim Heithkamp and Jerry Peschon; and several other family members.
