Glennis Lakner, age 92, of Ute, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, October 6, 2022, at the CHI Health Creighton University Medical Center of Omaha, Nebraska.

A Private Family Graveside Service will be held in the St. Clair Township Cemetery of Ute, Iowa. Pastor Mike Fillmore will officiate.

Glennis Irene Lakner was born on November 7, 1929, in Smithland, Iowa. She was raised there and graduated from Smithland High School.

On August 3, 1948, Glennis was united in marriage to Ronald J. Lakner in Sioux City, Iowa. To this union three children were born: Brian, Gloria and Ricky.

Glennis was a devout Christian who spent her life making her home run smoothly; gardening, canning, preparing wholesome meals, and being a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed feeding birds and squirrels in her backyard and watching Lawrence Welk. Glennis was a lifelong member of the Christian Church of Ute, Iowa.

She is survived by her children Brian (Linda) Lakner of Belvidere, IL; Gloria Edmonds of Denver, CO; and Ricky Lakner of Denison, IA; four grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents Antone and Ida Thompson, her husband Ronald and 4 siblings.
