OBITUARY OF MRS. ROUNDS

Ella Asonath daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Willard Kennedy was born in Demascotti (Damariscotta), Maine on Sept. 21, 1855. She died at her home in Onawa, Iowa on July 29, 1934. She had lived 78 years, 10 months, and 8 days.

Early in life she had come to Iowa and the greater part of her life had been lived in this state.

She was married in William Rounds on October 8, 1875, and to this union eight children were born. One daughter Ella Mae died on March 23, 1917, at the age of 37 years. Jr. Rounds had preceded his wife in death on June 24, 1931, at the age of 81 years.

In the year 1915 Mrs. Rounds with her husband had united with this M. E. church of Onawa. She remained secure in her confidence in God and the fear of death had passed from her.

Since the death of her husband she had been in failing health. About a year ago it became necessary for her to take to her couch and receive constant care. Since that time her children have enabled her to close her days in comfort and tender care. The forces of life ebbed out slowly and she died in her sleep on Sunday evening last. To go to sleep on earth as quietly as a child and to awaken to heaven, how could she meet the last experience of this life better than that?

Seven children survive her: Theodore of Leavenworth, Kan., William E. of Hawarden, Marcus H. of LeMars, Jesse G. of Sioux City; Ira of Seminole, Okla., Fred of Onawa and Cora Belle of Omaha, Nebr. And besides these there are 24 grandchildren and a number of great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at the home Tuesday, Rev. Thos. Batho officiating. Mrs. Gossard and Mrs. Rose sang. The Barnard Funeral Home was in charge. Interment was at the Onawa cemetery.
