Richard “Butch” Eugene Moore, 75, of Moorhead, Iowa passed away Thursday, November 11, 2021 at Elmwood Care Centre, Onawa, Iowa.

A graveside memorial service will be 2:00 P.M. Thursday, November 18, 2021 at the Jordan Cemetery, Soldier, Iowa with Pastor Chuck Snow officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Rush Family Care Service, Onawa, Iowa.

Richard Eugene was born December 17, 1945 in Onawa, Iowa the son of Earl Alden and Iva Lou (Livengood) Moore. He grew up in Moorhead, Iowa and graduated from East Monona in Moorhead, Iowa, in 1964. After graduating, Butch farmed with his father.

He worked at Berry Lumber Company for several years in Onawa. Butch was a supervisor of making pallets for Monona Services in Onawa.

Butch enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, gardening, and spending time in the outdoors. He enjoyed making picnic tables. Butch loved all of his family especially his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Butch attended the Moorhead Christian Church, Moorhead, Iowa.

Survivors include his children, Christina (Mark) Archer of Moorhead, Iowa, and Jeremy (Sarah) Moore of Onawa, Iowa; grandchildren, Elizabeth “Beth” Carter of Omaha, Nebraska, Kristina Carter of Cresco, Iowa, Devin Hyke of Council Bluffs, Iowa, Kaitlin Ladd of Mapleton, Iowa, and Aaron Archer of Moorhead, Iowa; step-grandchild, Natasha Archer of Carroll, Iowa; great-grandchildren, Berkley Hopkins and Braelynn Hopkins, both of Mapleton, Iowa; step-great-grandchildren, Kiley Warnke, Bentley Warnke, and Kennedy Warnke, all of Carroll, Iowa; brothers and sisters, Lisa (Steve) Petersen of Salix, Iowa, Roy (Shannon) Moore of Wellington, Florida, Everett (Beverly) Moore of Paw Paw, Michigan, and Keith (Cheryl) Moore of Mapleton, Iowa; sister-in-law, Cynthia Moore of Phoenix, Arizona; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Iva (Livengood) Moore; two sisters, Kathy Moore, and Hazel (Norris) Torbensen; brother, Jack Moore; paternal grandparents, Perry and Rada (Treft) Moore; and maternal grandparents, Roy and Fern (Riley) Livengood.
