Kathleen Patricia Blackford, 68, of Whiting, Iowa (formerly of Des Moines, Iowa), passed away Wednesday, October 27, 2021 at Pleasant View Care Center, Whiting, Iowa, surrounded by her family.

Per Kathleen’s wishes, cremation was accorded. Private Family Services will be held at a later date with burial in the Onawa Cemetery, Onawa, Iowa. Arrangements are under the direction of Rush Family Care Service, Onawa, Iowa.

Kathleen Patricia was born August 4, 1953 in Onawa, Iowa, the daughter of Lynn and Marilyn (Gray) Holsclaw. She graduated from Jefferson High School in Jefferson, Iowa.

Kathleen worked in various nursing homes and at the Methodist Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa, in housekeeping. She enjoyed rock and roll concerts, shopping trips, and visiting with family and friends.

Survivors include one son, Duane Blackford; several grandchildren; one sister, Karen (Steve) Shultz and their children, Randy Shultz, and Heather (Jeremy) MacClure; great-nephews, Levi, Noah, and Andrew; one brother, Brian Holsclaw; and several other family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Lynn Holsclaw; mother, Marilyn (Gray) Forbes; and one brother, Martin Holsclaw.
