Norman H. Timm, age 89, of Omaha, Nebraska (formerly of Ute, Iowa), passed away on Monday, November 15, 2021, at the Omaha VA Medical Center of Omaha, Nebraska.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., with Visitation held prior to the service, from 10:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m., on Saturday, November 20, 2021, at St. Paul Lutheran Church of Ute, Iowa. Rev. Nathan Peitsch will officiate. Committal Services with Military Rites will follow in the St. Clair Township Cemetery of Ute, Iowa. A Facebook live of the service will be available on the St. Paul Lutheran Church of Ute, Iowa, Facebook page.

The Armstrong - Van Houten Funeral Home of Ute, Iowa, are in charge of the funeral arrangements.

NORMAN H. TIMM, 89, of Omaha, NE, previously of Ute, IA entered into eternal rest on Monday, November 15, 2021.

Norman Henry Timm, son of Henry A. and Edna A. (Kiepe) Timm was born on April 16, 1932, in Charter Oak Township, Crawford County, IA. Norman was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Ute, IA. He graduated from Ute High School with the Class of 1950.

He married the love of his life Donna L. Jacobs on June 8, 1952, at the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church Ute, IA. To this union, five daughters were born: Deb, Denise, Deanna, Danette and Dodie.

Following graduation, he served in the United States Armed Forces. After returning home, he operated the Skelly Gas Station in Ute until he purchased the business he ran for 40 years, Norman Timm Sales. After retiring from the candy business, he worked for the Burgess Memorial Hospital in Onawa, IA.

Norman and Donna enjoyed going to auction sales and finding antiques. He was a lifelong member of the VFW. He was a devoted husband and father who especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He also loved his pugs, Fonzie & Bert.

Norman is survived by his daughters: Deb Kratochvil of Hawarden, IA, Denise (Curt) Ossenkop of Omaha, NE, Deanna (Brian) Mullen of Omaha, NE, Danette (Al) Thibault of Springfield, NE and Dodie Layton of Vineland, NJ; grandchildren: Dustin (Beth) Kratochvil, Jason (Brooke) Ossenkop, JD (Sarah) Thibault, Haylee (Adam) Gabel, Alex (Shane) Thibault, Andrew (Chelsey) Ossenkop, Alysa (David) King, Andrea (Nick) Fitzpatrick and Patrick Mullen; great grandchildren: Sam and Sarah Kratochvil, Adrian Ossenkop, Rahlyn, Brystol and Ellyson Gabel; Addy and Everly Thibault, Maxton and Bradley Thibault and Liliana King. Sisters: Marlene Krueger, Myra (Mike) Beener, and Patti (Steve) McAndrews. Other relatives and many friends.

Norman was preceded in death by his parents Henry and Edna Timm; his wife Donna of 64 years; grandson Tyler Kratochvil; sister Janice (Lyle) Phillips and a sister in infancy.

He will be dearly missed by not only his family but also his many friends including those at Trinity Village in Omaha.
