FRANK KELLOGG HOPKINS

Frank Kellogg Hopkins was born June 13, 1901 in Blencoe, Iowa and passed from this life in the Elmwood Home in Onawa, Iowa on March 27, 1979. Death came at the age of 77 years, 9 months and 14 days.

On September 30, 1925, He was united in marriage with Mary Kathrine Hyatt in Carroll, Iowa. To this union four daughters and four sons were born: one son Frank W. (Bill) preceded him in death.

Mr. Hopkins was a retired mechanic and farmer. He resided in Blencoe and Castana for a number of years, and then in Danbury six years; then in Foley, Minnesota for 16 years; he moved to Onawa to make his home in 1972.

Frank was a good worker, a kind and loving husband and father and a loyal friend.

Survivors include his wife Mary in Onawa; the four daughters; Mrs. Robert (Joyce) Mackey of Millbrae, California; Mrs. Richard (Janis) Friedricksen of Minneapolis, Minnesota; Mrs. Fred (Margaret) Iburg of Hickman, Nebraska, and Mrs. Joseph (Karen) Krula of Blencoe, Iowa; James B. of Onawa, Iowa; Gordon R. and Steven, both of Fayetteville, Texas:;three sisters; Opal Collison of Blencoe, Iowa; Mrs. Bernard (Gertrude) Morkrid of West Fork, Arkansas; and Mrs. Gola (Miriam) Gordon of Hawk Point, Missouri; two brothers; Henry Hopkins of Portland, Oregon and Bruce Hopkins of Woodbine, Iowa: 24 grandchildren, 9 great grand children, along with several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by the one son, his parents, three brothers and five sisters.

Funeral service were held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 30, 1979 at the Pearson Funeral Chapel, Onawa, Iowa with the Rev. Everett Epperson officiating. The organist was Mrs. John Johnston and Mrs. Larry Warren and Mrs. Dan Hyatt sang "Abide With Me" and "The Lords’ Prayer"

Bearers were Richard Seaton, Art Heisler, Edward Davis, Daniel Hyatt, Greg Heisler, and Larry Ruffcorn.

Interment was in the Graceland Cemetery, Blencoe, Iowa with arrangements by Pearson Funeral Home, Onawa, Iowa
