Marion Lucille Trizila, 98, of Whiting, Iowa passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 2, 2021 at Pleasant View Care Center, Whiting, Iowa.

A funeral service will be 10:00 A.M. Saturday, February 6, 2021 at the Rush Family Chapel, Onawa, Iowa with Pastor Michael Lewis officiating. (Social distancing measures must be followed, Due to Covid-19 restrictions- Masks are required for the visitation and service.) Burial will follow in the Onawa Cemetery, Onawa, Iowa. Visitation will be I hour prior to the service, Saturday February 6, 2021 at the Rush Family Chapel, Onawa, Iowa. Arrangements are under the direction of Rush Family Care Service, Onawa, Iowa.

Marion Lucille Stewart was born May 18, 1922 in Allen, Nebraska the daughter of Sterling L. and Augusta M. Stewart. She had one brother Sterling E. Stewart. She attended grade school in Allen and moved to Ponca, Nebraska in 1935 where she attended high school. Marion graduated from the Methodist Hospital School of Nursing in Sioux City, Iowa in 1943.

Marion and Walter M. Trizila were united into marriage on April 24, 1944 in Sioux City, Iowa and to this union two sons were born, Patrick and Michael. The family moved to Cherokee, Iowa in 1964, where they owned and operated the Cherry Street Nursing Home until 1969. Due to Walter’s failing health they moved to Onawa, Iowa in 1969 where Marion was employed as a nurse at Burgess Memorial Hospital until her retirement in 1984. Walter passed away in 1974.

She was a member of the Council Bluffs Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She enjoyed genealogy, jigsaw puzzles, Lawrence Welk, and every feline she met.

Survivors include her two sons, Patrick Trizila of Onawa, Iowa, and Michael (Mary) Trizila of Sioux City, Iowa; fourteen grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; cousins; other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Sterling L. and Augusta M. Stewart; her husband, Walter M. Trizila; one brother, Sterling E. Stewart; and step-daughter, Darlene Curry.
