GRANDMA GANTZ ANSWERS LAST CALL

Ernestina Gantz was born in Pomerania Prussia, March 19, 1847, and was the daughter of Frederick and Anna Heiden. On November 29, 1868 she was United in marriage to Ernest Gantz . This is Gantz came to America from Germany in 1872.
To the above union seven children were born, four of home survive to mourn the death of this loving mother. Mrs. Gantz passed away Thursday, May 7, 1931, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Isaac Orr, west of town. She had been in very poor health for several years. She is survived by four children, William Gantz, Mrs. Isaac Orr, Mrs. John Miller, and Mr.s. Will Lenter. Three children Martha, Zaida and Everett, preceded her in death as did her husband, Ernest Gantz, Who passed away April 26, 1910. Mrs. Gant, was at the time of her death, 84 years, one month and 18 days old. The funeral was conducted by our EV, Smith and burial was made in the Onawa cemetery.

Mrs. Gantz was a kindly and a loving mother, and enjoyed the friendship and love of hundreds of friends and neighbors.

A precious one from us has gone,
A voice we loved is stilled;
And place is vacant in our home
Which never can be filled.
God in His wisdom has recalled
The boon His Love has given
And though the body slumbers here
The soul is safe in heaven
