Thomas “Tom” Johnson, 81, of Ida Grove, Iowa (formerly of Onawa, Iowa) passed away Friday, February 5, 2021 at the Morningside Care Center, Ida Grove, Iowa.

Memorial Services will be 2:00 P.M. Friday, April 16, 2021 at the Rush Family Chapel with Pastor Michael Lewis officiating. (Please bring and wear masks). Burial will be in the Onawa, Cemetery, Onawa, Iowa with Military Honors provided by the United States Air Force and the David McNeill American Legion Post #129 of Onawa, Iowa. Arrangements are under the direction of Rush Family Care Service, Onawa, Iowa.

Tom was born August 20, 1939 the son of Robert and Helen (Smith) Johnson. He was inducted in the United states Air Force on August 16, 1957 until his honorable discharge August 15, 1961.

Tom and Pat (Hughes) were united into marriage on March 24, 1962. He worked for the Farmers Coop, West Monona School in the maintenance department, and the Blackbird Bend Casino in the maintenance department.

He enjoyed golfing, going to the casino, being with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and sitting outside and visiting with family and friends. He loved to venture out and get ice cream.

Survivors include his daughter, Stacy (Earl) Krayenhagen of Ida Grove, Iowa and family; sister, Suzette Rudnick of Manning, Iowa and family; sister-in-law, Denise Johnson of Onawa, Iowa and family; and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Helen (Smith) Johnson; wife, Pat; daughter, Sabrina; brother, Jim Johnson; and brother-in-law, Wayne Rudnick.
