DARRELL RUSSELL MADSEN
Darrell Russell Madsen, Onawa, Iowa, passed away at his home on December 1, 1982, following a long illness. Death came at the age of 63 years, 5 months, and 28 days.
He was born at Turin, Iowa, on June 3, 1919, the son of Richard and Blanche Bridgeman Madsen. He was married to Alice Peterson on February 17, 1953, at Fremont, Nebraska. The couple had made their home near Castana until moving to Onawa six years ago. Darrell had been engaged in farming and in the trucking business.
Survivors are his wife, Alice, of Onawa; two sons, David D. Madsen and Terry L. Madsen, both of Onawa; a step-daughter, Mrs. Rom (Virgie) Delgado of Omaha; Nebraska; two step-sons, Virgil McCue of Omaha, Nebraska and Gary McCue of Pisgah, Iowa, and one brother, Richard Madsen of Turin. There are seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 4, 1982, at St. John's Catholic Church, Onawa, Iowa, with Father Donald Smith officiating. The organist was Mrs. Jack Jordan and the soloist, David Ha us man, sang "Amazing Grace," and "How Great Thou Art." Honorary bearers were Donald Loomis, Ernest Eckard, Charles Madsen, Burdette Madsen, Page Madsen, Francis Jordan, and Otto Lorenzen. Active bearers were Robert Black, Dwight Teel, Gordon Walker, Jack Jordan, Robert Cass, and Harlan Morgan. Interment was in the Onawa Cemetery, Onawa, Iowa with arrangements by Pearson Funeral Home, Onawa, Iowa.
