CHARLES GUST HIEBER
Charles Gust Hieber, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Hieber, was born August 21, 1890, at Mapleton Iowa. He resided in the Castana and Mapleton communities his entire life. He retired from farming in 1931 and moved to Castana where he owned and operated a service station for nine years.
He was married to Anna Nielsen at Onawa on August 19, 1909. This union was blessed with one daughter and three sons. One infant son preceded him in death.
Mr. Hieber was visiting at the home of his daughter in Wisner, Neb. when he was stricken with a heart attack. He died Tuesday, Feb. 2, 1954, having reached the age of 63 years, 5 months, and 11 days.
He Is survived by his widow, Anna; one daughter, Mrs. Floyd (Evelyn) Farwell, Wisner, Neb., two Sons, Lawrence of Moorhead and Edgar of Battle Creek, la.; one brother, George Hieber of Tekamah, two sisters, Mrs. Katie Czepa Harrisburg, Oregon, and Mrs. Wm. Kee of Mapleton. and eight grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Friday. Feb. 5. 1951. at 2 pm at the Castana Community church. Rev George Osborn officiating Interment was in the Kennebec cemetery' at Castana. Byers-Walter funeral home in charge of services.
Pallbearers were Andrew Bruning, Lloyd Davis. Laverne McVicker, Samuel Hall, Arthur Davis, and Marlon Arnold.
