Mary Alice Collison, 83, of Albaton, Iowa passed away Thursday, January 21, 2021 at Pleasant View Care Center, Whiting, Iowa.

A Public Visitation will be 5:00 – 7:00 P.M. Monday, January 25, 2021 at the Rush Family Chapel, Onawa, Iowa. (Social distancing measures must be followed- Due to Covid-19 restrictions- Masks are required for the visitation and service.) A Private Family Service will be 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at the Rush Family Chapel, Onawa, Iowa with Pastor Craig Bock, officiating. Friends are welcome to park in the Rush Chapel parking lot and listen to the service in your vehicle by tuning to a FM radio station that will be announced to those in attendance the day of the service. Burial will follow in Whiting City Cemetery, Whiting, Iowa. (FM radio of the graveside will be available also). Arrangements are under the direction of Rush Family Care Service, Onawa, Iowa.

Mary Alice was born February 3, 1937 the daughter of Wilmer “Howard” and Celia Nancy (Allen) Holverson. She grew up in Soldier, Iowa and graduated from Soldier High School in 1955.

Mary and John Collison were united into marriage on November 29, 1956 at the Soldier Lutheran Church, Soldier, Iowa. To this union three children were born, Patricia, Michael, and John Jr.

She was a fulltime farm wife and enjoyed raising her family. Mary was a school bus driver for Westwood Community Schools for twenty-five years. She enjoyed reading, sewing, going to the casino, playing piano, baking, and her flower garden. Mary loved spending time with her family especially attending all of her children and grandchildren’s school activities.

Mary was a member of the Skien Lutheran Church, Albaton, Iowa and was very active in the church. Mary and John were custodians of the church for twenty years. She was a deacon, Sunday school teacher, Ladies Aid member, and served on the church board.

Survivors include her loving husband of sixty-four years, John William Collison; her daughter, Patricia (Tom) Marr of Whiting, Iowa; grandchildren, Nicole Jacobson and Andrea Vaughn-Gross, both of Whiting, Iowa; great-grandchildren, Jayden Keenan, Emma Gross, Caitlyn Jacobson, Natalie Jacobson and Zane Keller; brother, Harold Holverson of Soldier, Iowa; three sisters-in-law, Linda Petersen of Soldier, Iowa and Tootie Collison of Chandler, Arizona, and Darlene (Bill) Krumwiede of Sioux City, Iowa; and one brother-in-law, Charlie (Rachel) Collison of Oxnard, California.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Celia (Allen) Holverson; brother, Wilmer “Skip” Holverson; sons, Michael and John Jr. Collison; granddaughter, Danielle Withee; niece, Angela (Holverson) Gorham; sisters-in-law, Margaret Holverson; brother-in-law, Lyle Collison; sister-in-law, Jean (George) Hunter; and sister-in-law, Elaine (Neal) Koeppen.
